Some questions that come up regularly.

What is a health coach?

A health coach helps you get clear on what your body, mind and life need and how you can find your way to that. It is guidance, partnership and accountability to make changes that are solid and sustainable.

How is this different from a business coach?

Business coaching focuses on performance, leadership goals and strategy. Health coaching ensures the person executing all of it is in good enough shape to do so. It addresses the foundation that makes any of that possible. My work is built around four foundations, Competence, Strength, Dignity and Joy, that research confirms are what professional women need to maintain in order to lead well and stay well. I am the evidence of what it costs when that foundation crumbles underneath an otherwise impressive career. I also know first hand how long women will go without mentioning it to anyone.

What qualifies you to do this work?

I hold an Arts Law degree, spent 21 years in global advertising including two CEO roles, and am certified by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I have also lived this, researched it with 141 professional women, and built a framework out of what I found. Knowing what you are talking about from the inside is, in my view, the whole point. I am also committed to continuing to study and build on this work. There is always more to learn and I intend to learn it.

Why do you only work with women?

The pressures women face in professional life are specific and still largely unaccounted for in the way we talk about health and performance. This work is built around that reality. If you are not a woman and feel drawn to this approach, you are welcome to reach out. I trust people to know when something is relevant to them.

Do you work with women at all stages of their careers?

Yes. I work with women in leadership, women navigating change, women finding themselves after burnout, those who are adjusting after maternity leave, or women suffering a serious drop in confidence. Rather than identifying with a particular job title or career stage to work on your health, you only need respond to a sense that something is not working and come with a readiness to do something about it.

Do I have to be in crisis to work with you?

Not at all. Some women come to prevent the crash, others come to recover from one, and some arrive simply wanting more capacity and a bit of support getting there. You arrive at the time that feels right for you.

What kinds of outcomes can I expect?

Women I work with often report feeling clearer, more grounded, and more in charge of their energy and decisions. They sleep better, communicate better, set boundaries without the guilt, and start leading in a way that feels more like them. The goal is living sustainably, not a massive overhaul.

Do I have to give up wine and become a morning person?

I don't believe anyone thrives on restriction, but we do feel better when we exercise choice. This work focuses on what strengthens you and protects your capacity. This is about helping you lead with less collapse. You will remain entirely yourself, just with more energy and fewer 3am worry spirals.

What are the signs I might need a health coach?

You might still be functioning, but it's getting harder. You're tired and no amount of rest alleviates that fatigue. You're sleepless and snapping more, wondering why your mind feels not as sharp. You've powered through in the past but that's not working like it used to. If you are running on empty it might be time to get some help.

How do I know if my health is under strain?

Sometimes it's obvious, exhaustion, terrible sleep, recurring migraines, a stiffness everywhere. Other times it's less evident. Maybe you can't remember the last time you felt rested. Maybe you've lost patience, your appetite, your focus, or just the sense that you're good. Brushing aside signals and hoping things will ease up on their own might be the very indication that it's time to pause and reassess.
